Do NOT give your money to Southern Utah Sports club!! They cancelled a soccer league that I signed my child up for and 4 months later I still have not recieved my money back!! And they will not return my calls or emails BEWARE of Southern Utah Sports Club
I also gave Alan Clarkston 120.00 for a travelling basketball team. Shortly after he canceled the team. He will not return phone calls or emails. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY OR SIGN YOUR KIDS UP FOR ANYTHING...unless like to give your money to Alan to pay his bills. It has been 4 months and no response. There were about 8 - 9 boys on this team. I am pretty sure all the parents paid him the same amount and no one to my knowledge has received anything. BEWARE!
He bailed town and now he is in Arizona

He has started up a similar program in Sedona. I have tried to warn the people but they refused to post my comment on their website. It's unfortunate that he is being allowed to continue this scam and they are blind to it. If you find a way to contact the paper there or anyone there please don't hesitate to do it and let me know how you did so that I can contact them as well.

Havasu Police: Pop Warner football commissioner suspected of embezzling $20,000
The commissioner for Pop Warner’s Western Arizona Conference was arrested last week for allegedly embezzling more than $20,000 from the nonprofit organization.
The loss puts more than 800 players across the region at a disadvantage, Pop Warner officials said.
Charles Alan Clarkston, 40, due in court this week for a preliminary hearing, is facing charges of theft, fraudulent schemes and forgery after a Pop Warner executive member reported him to Lake Havasu City police when she discovered his alleged misuse of funds.
The Western Arizona Conference (WAC) includes six teams along the Colorado River, including the Lake Havasu Chiefs and the Parker Panthers.
The investigation into Clarkston began shortly after an August board meeting when Karen Hogue, certification director on the executive board for the conference, confronted Clarkston about financial statements that didn’t “add up.”
Clarkston was asked to turn over his computer, which is how she discovered Clarkston was handling all the financial work despite the understanding he was not allowed to touch funds because of a prior felony conviction for similar crimes, Hogue said.
Police said the bank statements Clarkston provided were identified as fraudulent by their bank. Hogue discovered the money had been depleted from Pop Warner bank accounts, including the conference’s travel fund.
“I was very disheartened by it,” Hogue said. “I felt manipulated. We had put our trust in this man to run our organization.”
Hogue said Clarkston also changed login information for the accounts so she could not access them.
“We were all in shock,” said Missi Gilbert, president of the Parker Panthers. “We all wanted to defend him but the numbers don’t lie.”
The crimes track back to January when Clarkston was voted in as commissioner, Hogue said.
Clarkston allegedly used the money to pay for personal bills, hotel stays, Walmart gift cards, and his daughter’s Education America Tour Group trip to Washington D.C., police said.
It also was discovered Clarkston established a limited liability corporation called CW Management Group through the Arizona Corporation Commission that appears to have no purpose other than to be used as a means of embezzling money from the league accounts, police said.
Clarkston is currently on felony probation from fraudulent schemes crimes committed in Yavapai County, police said.
After Clarkston was arrested, Hogue said WAC officials opened up new bank accounts and closed its post office box in Kingman. Other measures to fix the issue include contracting the financial dealings to an independent treasurer who will have no stake in Pop Warner other than being responsible for the financial work.
“As soon as we knew what was going on, we moved in the right direction,” Gilbert said. “This has caused a great debt for us. Everyone has to pay for one person’s mistakes and it’s the kids that are hurting here.”
To avoid future situations, Hogue said the organization will extend its background check process and volunteer requirements.
In the past, the only crimes on criminal records that were cause for concern were those involving children, Hogue said. Now misdemeanors involving money also will be a disqualifier for volunteers.
“We want everyone to know that we have been very diligent to make this right,” Hogue said.
Gilbert said she wants to make sure Clarkston serves time for his alleged crimes.
“We want to make sure he won’t do this to anybody else,” Gilbert said. “He stole from about 800 kids. That’s what it boils down to for us.”
